You see, for the past month I've been patiently waiting for my dear husband to take a razor to his face and give up the shenanigans of growing a Duck Dynasty beard. Love the guys, but you know their wives prefer their baby faces.
I still love him madly, but when we recently found out that after sending in his application, he was approved with a Fire Department to move on with the application process, my hopes of a clean shaven face were in site! No beards for the FD! I'll admit, I prayed a little bit harder that he would get that interview.
So tonight, I glance over, and literally laugh-cried my mascara off of my face. Could not stop laughing.
Are you ready for this?
I wasn't.
Did you just laugh-cry your mascara off? So this was my darling hubby's way of telling me he received the email saying he is continuing in the FD process!!! Background packet to be filled out by next Friday, physical test, and then the interview! He'll need to lose all the facial hair by then, but he had to have a little fun. Maybe he can leave the 'Pastor Patch' for a few days. Phil came up with the new nickname for the soul patch tonight when we realized our current Pastor along with a few others we know, sport the patch.
I'm excited to be back on the Firefighter pursuit alongside my incredible husband. I trust God has used this wild journey to bring us exactly where He wants us to be. It's just a matter of time! And we've learned to trust His timing over our own.
As of last Saturday I began my 2nd trimester! And today I felt a flutter! Coolest feeling EVER! I took my 13 week belly shot too.
Uhm, I'm VERY excited! And this was the only shot where I realized I'm not supposed to suck in for these pictures. That's taking a while to get used to. But I sure can't complain! Embracing the belly as it grows!
Here's a little clip of our last ultrasound at 11 weeks! CLICK HERE to see him or her. What do you think it is? Send in your votes! We won't be waiting much longer to find out. Phil wants to go to a 4D place ASAP.
Phil and I celebrated 9 glorious years of marriage. No really, they have been glorious! It's ridiculous how much I love my man. We have been together over 12 years straight and I've yet to get sick of his face. Even with the thickest beard in the world.
We celebrated with dinner at P.F Chang's and he surprised me with some thoughtful gifts.
Love you all. Meant it.

Great post! He now looks identical to Dad!

ReplyDeleteLove this...you are adorable!
ReplyDeleteWe refer to that as the "punk patch" in our household.
ReplyDeleteLooking good. No one would ever know you are pregnant by looks (which is that awkward frustrating stage where you feel compelled to tell people you are pregnant). You be growing big in no time...
Excited to find out if that is a boy or a girl!
I love your 13 week photo!!! You're so cute!! And I love the shirt!! I like my husband to have facial hair....I think I'm one of few....he has to keep it neat for work, but thankfully he doesn't have to be clean-shaven!! Great post :)
